ECO COMMUNITY PLANS & GREEN RESORT MASTER CONCEPT PLANS
Spiritual Ecology (Living in ECOlibrium)
"If nothing ever changed, there'd be no butterflies."
Broadway Architects (Rob Sieniuc + Associates) have created many Eco Community and Green Resort Master Plans (complete with architectural & environmental guidelines) for resorts, communities and governments — to sensitively shape growth. Current work with Yukon Hot Springs Resort is based on our "ECOlibrium" design philosophy which is deeply rooted in ecology and community —a sustainable master concept plan that embraces architecture, energy conservation and the natural environment to transform an existing hot spring facility into a vibrant destination eco village green community. The Yukon Resort recognizes (in both design and services) that human health is interconnected with environmental health. Our work for Manning Park Resort and the Kwayhquitlum Master Plan were acknowledged for their stewardship approach. The Seabird Island Sustainable Community was a ground breaking housing project in Canada. The film "In A Sacred Way We Build" documents the extraordinary community planning, integrated design and green building strategies employed at Seabird Island. Broadway Architects have worked on many innovative community planning projects in Canada’s North, where the effects of global warming and high energy costs are pronounced. We designed a sustainable eco community development for the First Nation of Na-Cho Nyäk Dun in Mayo, Yukon. Several of our built green buildings have become landmarks in their communities—and a number of sustainable community master plans where the first of their kind in Western Canada, and won awards including community plans for Edgemont in Calgary, and the Rosedale/Cloverdale communities in Edmonton.
