COVE CLIFF RESIDENCE (Creek)
Deep Cove, North Vancouver, BC, 2008
"Like dreams small CREEKS.,
grow into mighty rivers."
~ Old Proverb
A small meandering creek traverses the site of this home. The residence has been designed to respond to its intimate relationship with the neighbourhood waterway and an adjacent local park.
Expressed curved glulam beams and logs form the structural supporting system. The home's sweeping roof and fir logs pay homage to the rainforest location. A central house post symbolically "anchors" the house to the earth. The home was self built by its owner.
