BRIDGE RIVER TOWNHOUSES (River Rock)

"A ROCK that rolls can not build a home."

The project is located in Bridge River "Nxwísten", approximately 9 km north of Lillooet, British Columbia.
The housing development is designed to be in context with existing homes in this subdivision and at the same time provide a distinctive identity based on the local and cultural environment.

The environmental design incorporates carports and protected decks. The timber and log trellis provides shade from the hot summer sun (temperatures in the high 30's C are common).  It is a symbolic reference to the nearby drying/smoke racks found at the historic +6,000 year old fishing site at the confluence of the Fraser and Bridge Rivers.
